Native Bulbs

Why buy Native?

We source these bulbs from a specialist local supplier, and we chose only native bulbs grown on a small scale, because it's better for the bees and wildlife

They will always chose to pollinate a native plant over a hybrid or non-native which aren't best suited to their particular adaptations

Indeed, this is why some bees and butterflies have become extinct, becasue they can no longer find the right type of Native flowers to drink from

Arguably, these Spring bulbs are the most important of all year, as it's when the Queen Bumblebees come out of hibernation, looking for  a much needed drink of nectar to keep her going to find a nest.

Even our beloved daffodils are not well suited to many bees anymore, as they have little Nectar left to support them, having been over hybridised, it will be a real joy to grow these special Native daffs.

Do your bit and support wildlife, whilst enjoying the incredible beauty these pots will give you !

You can also stand existing pots within the hessian, to dress them and keep the heat off. We'd recommend you put an old plate underneath.

Our bulbs...

Bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta)
 Wild Daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus lobularis)
 Welsh Daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus obvallaris)
 Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) ***
 Snakeshead Fritillaries (Fritillaria meleagris)
Wood Anemones (Anemone nemorosa)

Our hessian pots...

Our hessian pots are hand sewn in Suffolk. in our clothing studio running for over 5 years

They feature off cuts of our dress making fabric, making these pots a delightful addition to your garden, patio, allotment, roof terrace, even in the dead of Winter.. bringing a pop of colour, in harmony with nature (hessian is made from the Jute plant, and bees love to rest on it) and an alternative to plastic

And a promise of the joy to come when the bees visit in Spring
